Spin Magazine's Tribute to Purple Rain - Out Now!
It’s hard to believe that Purple Rain, the first movie from rocker Prince, is 25 years old. Spin Magazine has a great cover story that reveals a lot of the untold history behind the making of the film. For example, the amazing singer Jill Jones reveals that when Vanity dropped out of the picture (to do “The Last Temptation of Christ”), Gina Gershon was nearly cast in the role that catapulted Apollonia to stardom. Former Revolution bandmates Wendy and Lisa also talk about how Prince used to be so open-minded, but in recent years, his stringent religious beliefs have squashed his creativity. Happy birthday Purple Rain! The movie, the music, the band-members have changed my life in so many positive ways.
This issue of Spin Magazine, which also features an exclusive mp3 download of covers called “Purplish Rain,” is out now.

Priscilla Queen Of The Desert - Now Showing!
If you are in the London area, I highly recommend seeing this fabulous West End stage production of Priscilla Queen of the Desert. It was such a gay old time. The costumes, the songs and the production values are so great for this musical adapatation of the cult classic film. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll want to leave the theatre in full drag! This show stars Jason Donovan, who recorded a song with Kylie Minogue called “Especially For You.” The play trades in most of the Abba references made in the motion picture for Kylie ones. Maybe you’ve been to paradise, but have you ever been to me? You can’t see this on Broadway, so you’ll have to take a trip to London to check out the fabulousness of this show!

Murray Hill - Live On Tape
Last night at Comix in Manhattan, my friends and I went to see the legendary Drag King and Mr. Showbiz himself, Murray Hill record his first live album, “Live On Tape.” The show was so funny and our table will be well represented when the album is released. Michael Musto, legendary New York critic of all things cool, was also in attendance. If you can’t wait for the album to be released, you can see more of Murray on his official website.
