A Massive Madonna Poster in Times Square.

Today is the day.  Her Madgesty is releasing a 2-CD set of greatest hits (read: 2 tracks you don’t have for $20) as well as a beefy 47-track double DVD collection of videos.

What are you getting?

I admit it.  I’m getting them both.  I think the DVD has a pretty great tracklist and long after Madonna stopped making good music, she still made great videos.  Also, I really want the cover art for both packages as it’s done by one of my favorite artists, Mr. Brainwash.  I couldn’t really care about the 2-cd set as I have all of the albums, and I’ve steered clear of hearing the 2 new tracks.  Why?  Because I don’t really care anymore.  I think because Madonna has been around since I was a kid, I’ll probably always stay interested in what she has to say – out of nostalgia and hope for legendary tracks, but I think like all of the titans before her – her glory years are long behind her.  And like other titans who are still trying to prove themselves – why bother?  You had a great run.  You’re a legend and now you are just tarnishing the perfection of your golden period.  You can’t possibly need more money?  There’s not much left out there you haven’t already accomplished.  Feel free to prove us all wrong Madonna, but sometimes we need to call a spade just that.  I speak on behalf of all your die-hard fans who are way too pussified to say anything negative because the scope of their vision to see these flaws is not quicker than a ray of light.  According2g, that’s what I think.

And you?  Leave your comments here.  If you leave them on Facebook, they will be swallowed up in the annals of the matrix, and no one will be able to hear your voice.  Let it be heard.  Plus, you never know when Madonna might be reading this site…

Well continue to spare yourself…the new tracks are awful. Confessions would have been a decent cap on a long long career. Hard candy was embarrassing. I am with you, she should let her legend do the talking now. I bought all 3 versions —the single disc cd, the double disc cd, and the dvd. i know, i’m a dork.

So it turns out, in New York F—in City, the music store options are Best Buy, Borders, K-Mart and Barnes and Noble. K-Mart didn’t get any DVDs and the other 3 places got 4 copies each and all were sold out. Wow. The music store is dead.
