If you are looking for the quintessential Christmas album for this holiday season, look no further!  Sony’s Legacy division has re-released Phil Spector’s classic 1963 album “A Christmas Gift For You from Phil Spector.”  In addition to having a booklet with extensive liner notes and remastered sound, the music is incredible!  The album has Christmas classics from Darlene Love, The Ronettes, Bob B. Soxx and the Blue Jeans and The Crystals.  These versions of holiday favorites such as “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home),” “White Christmas,” “Winter Wonderland,” “Santa Claus is Coming To Town,” “Sleigh Ride,” “Frosty the Snowman” and “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus” will definitely bring you Christmas cheer, but as they all have Phil Spector’s trade mark “wall of sound” production, you will be dancing in the aisles within minutes of putting on this album.  It’s too bad that Phil Spector’s personal life has tainted his brilliant career, so drink some eggnog, throw those images out the window and enjoy one of the best Christmas albums of all time!

Agreed, Geoffrey. The sad state of Phil Spector’s current life in no way takes away from the music he created. This album is so full joy and talent that it’s an essential ingredient to the holiday season. Also, be sure to catch Darlene Love performing “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home” on Letterman on Dec. 23rd.
