The Beastie Boys’ Adam Horovitz joins Our Hit Parade

Another reason to love New York is for nights like January 27, 2010 where at Joe’s Pub, you can see a show like “Our Hit Parade.” Creators Neal Medlyn and Bridget Everett have put on this monthly show where they reinterpret songs that you all know and love. Tonight’s theme was the top ten songs in the United States. The songs are dramatically altered from their original versions and you are guaranteed to leave the Pub clutching your stomach from laughing so hard. They were joined with a little help from their all-star friends such as Cole Escola (of Jeffery and Cole’s Casserole), Kenny Mellman, Amber Martin, PJ Deboy and the Beastie Boys’ Adam Horovitz (Aka Ad-Rock).

I didn’t take any video! Sorry.
I know that a Romeo and Juliet inspired version of “Say Something” was played. Tik Tok was the finale. The show was Lady Gaga free. Kenny Mellman did a great version of Adam Lambert’s “whattya want from me” with video of Glamberace and Kris Allen as want to be lovers.

And Ad-Rock just beat-boxed on a song… he was on stage for less than 5 minutes.
