Andy Warhol passed away on this day in 1987.  He’d gone in for gallbladder surgery and was recovering very nicely, when he had a heart attack and died in his sleep.  I was fortunate enough to get his autograph “back in the day.”  I wonder what it’s worth… it’s very artsy.

RIP Andy Warhol and damn you for your quote about “everyone getting their 15 minutes of fame,” because it seems these days that everybody wants what they ain’t got.

I remember the night Andy died. I was at Club Lingerie in Hollywood seeing Julian Cope. I’ll never forget when Copey said between songs, “I just realized, Andy Warhol’s dead.” It was very sobering. RIP Andy – you were THE BEST!
