On March 26, 2010, New York based band Jupiter One played a sold out show at the legendary venue Maxwell’s in Hoboken, New Jersey.  I discovered this band when I purchased a cd from Amazon.com and they suggested that based on my musical preferences, I might enjoy Jupiter One.  Sight unseen, I purchased their self-titled debut album and on the first listen, I was instantly hooked.  They have catchy indie-pop songs that have a little bit of a new wave and rock feel.  I especially recommend the song “Countdown,” as it’s one that I play over and over again.  I think that once you hear that song, you’ll be making some Jupiter One CD/mp3 purchases.  Their second album “Sunshower” was released in September of 2009 and it’s just as good as their debut.  The liner notes to both of their albums do not feature any pictures of the band, so when I saw them take the stage at Maxwell’s, it was a nice surprise to see what they look like.  Their hour long set featured all the songs you’d be dying to hear live and for their last song, they were joined on stage by the members of their two opening acts Heypenny and Kyle Andrews.

See a few more pictures and the set list after the jump.

And so it begins... Jupiter One.

Jupiter One drummer David Heilman thanks the crowd for rockin'!

Agree!! Jupiter One is a great band. I have both cds and go to as many shows as possible. They like to surprise their fans and like it when they look for more so if you want to see their pictures on their cds you just have to look a little further and search all the paper. You’ll find their pictures : )

I just looked at both of them again… What am I missing? On their debut album, unless they are those tiny tiny little people in the truck on the bridge and on Sunshower, are they the foxes? Though the members are foxy, their cd booklets are not good representations of what they really look like, according2g 🙂

They are foxy but not foxes…You have to take all the liner material out of the plastic case in order to see them…: )

Oh I see! My “Sunshower” tray case is white, and I never popped it out until now. Good call! Thanks Sandy.
