I love this street art that I saw recently. Homo Riot! The name pretty much says it all. I googled the hell out of this phrase trying to get information, but I only came up with these two sites that also have images from this elusive artist. Click here and here to see those photos. And if the artist(s) are reading this, get in touch with a brother. I’d love to do a profile on you!
I have been digging through the G Archives to start compiling my first coffee table book of photos (more details on that coming soon) and as I was going through the archives, I uncovered a bunch of video clips that I’ve taken at various concerts over the last few years. The below clip is Depeche Mode singing “Waiting For The Night” from Madison Square Garden. You can read a review of the show here. In the coming weeks/months, I’ll be posting clips of Radiohead, George Michael, Lily Allen, Coldplay and Lady Gaga so stay tuned to According2g.com – your daily dose of all you need to know from A to G.
On March 27, 2010, Erykah Badu played a secret show to celebrate the upcoming release of her new album at Good Units in the basement of the Hudson Hotel in New York City. Prior to her taking the stage at the very late hour of 1 o’clock in the morning, the sold out crowd was treated to 3 opening acts spanning the genres of dance (MNDR), Rock (Tony Castles) and Rap. Philadelphia based electro-rap group Spank Rock represented in the final category. I used to be a big fan of rap music, but once I had the epiphany that almost all of the music is stolen from other songs and the lyrics are typically talking about how big a rapper’s dick is, how many coochies they want to stick their aforementioned dicks in, killing people, calling each other the N-word and a plethora of other hatefulness, I adopted the motto that most rap is crap. During my absence from knowing what’s new on the rap scene, I was pretty excited to see Spank Rock as he’s done remixes for Bjork (Earth Intruders) and Kylie Minogue (Heart Beat Rock).
Susan Boyle has sure sold a lot of copies of her debut album, and oddly enough for as many records as she’s sold, no one has ever admitted to hearing the record. I will confess that when I see the infamous clip of her singing “I Dreamed a Dream,” it brings tears to my eyes. Still, I don’t think I’d hang the above photo on my wall. What about you?
Singer George Michael recently brought his amazing 25 Live tour to Australia. He also brought his Iphone and has been using the gay hookup application Grindr to prowl for sex. Allegedly, his Grindr name is “Back For Wood.” I read this on the internet, so it must be true. Myself and zillions of fans worldwide really wish George would channel his insatiable thirst for sex by recording new music. As a reminder to one of my favorite singers, the Creator has given you a great voice, two fully functioning hands and Chatroulette. Please use them, and practice safe sex!
