LCD Soundsystem at Webster Hall

When LCD Soundsystem hit the stage of Webster Hall in New York on April 12, 2010 at the stroke of 11 pm, the sold out crowd for this not-so-secret show literally surrendered themselves to reckless abandon for the next two hours. Front-man James Murphy told the crowd that he was “much less drunk tonight,” referring to the other night when LCD Soundsystem played their first show in nearly 3 years in Brooklyn. Keeping the lighting scheme quite minimal until the end portion of the show, the band played old hits and material from their upcoming album “This is Happening.” You can tell that James Murphy is a fan of music because he was very gleeful when he gave the introduction to the band’s B-side “Yr City’s A Sucker.” The crowd enjoyed new tracks such as “Pow Pow” and “I Can Change” but all hell broke loose during very funky versions of “Tribulations,” “Daft Punk Is Playing At My House” and their new single “Drunk Girls.” Murphy also begged the crowd not to bootleg their new record prior to its official release – which must mean it’s out there somewhere (Google is your friend in these kinds of situations). The band is getting ready to rock Coachella very soon, but just remember – we had them first!
See some more pix and the set list (which was different than the one they played the other night) after a word from our sponsor.
