VV Brown

I saw singer VV Brown back in February when she performed her first ever show in Manhattan.  Just 2 short months later, I saw another first for this wonderfully talented singer.  On April 28, 2010 at New York’s Bowery Ballroom, VV Brown performed her first headlining show.  The first time I saw her, I was largely unfamiliar with her music.  Her great voice and her catchy songs won me over very quickly into the evening and her album “Travelling Like The Light” has been in heavy rotation ever since.  It will definitely make my top albums of 2010 list, without a doubt.  She was just as charming, just as funky and just as soulful as the first time and with her talent, I’d be shocked if she is not a huge star before this year is up.  She’s already gone to number 1 in France!  (Go sista!)  It might be blasphemy for saying this, but I think “Travelling Like The Light” is on par with Amy Winehouse’s “Back to Black” for a near-perfect album.  I am really looking forward to hearing many more great things to come from VV Brown.  On a personal note, I met her after the show and she couldn’t have been nicer.  More on that very soon.
