Eurotrash by M-City and Dolk now at the Brooklynite Gallery through May 29, 2010.

If you are in the New York area, you are going to want to head over to the Brooklynite Gallery on 344 Malcolm X Blvd in Brooklyn and check out their latest exhibit Eurotrash. The show is comprised of new works by Norwegian stencil artist Dolk and Poland’s M-City.  The show runs from now until May 29, 2010 and is well worth a visit.  First off, the space at the Brooklynite Gallery is really cool as there are both in-door and out-door galleries but more important – the art is amazing!  Dolk’s style is similar to Banksy’s as he uses stencils and interjects a very wry sense of humor into his work and both artists are notoriously famous for being anonymous.  M-City is Poland’s most prolific outdoor artist whose works can be seen on a number of continents.  M-City’s work is often done in gray scale and it is often mistaken for Cold War propaganda.  I really enjoyed this exhibit and I highly recommend that you check it out.  On a personal note, I’d like to extend thanks to Rae McGrath of the Brooklynite Gallery for being really cool and chatting with me about both artists.  There are some additional works by Dolk in Brooklyn.  It makes for a great scavenger hunt. Rae also mentioned that they often have DJs and live music in the “back yard” of the gallery, so get on the mailing list to find out when the next happening will be.  Tell him G sent ya!
