Mike Cloud: Quiltmaking and Over-Production of Opposites at the Max Protetch Gallery in NYC. Now showing through June 5, 2010.

Here’s something you don’t see every day – painted collages on paper that combine text, sewing and print-making.  Thanks to Mike Cloud’s latest exhibit Quiltmaking and Over-Production of Opposites at the Max Protetch Gallery in New York, you can feast your eyes on dozens of these double sided quilts that will leave you asking yourself “how did he do that?!”  Cloud has used pages from photographer Annie Liebowitz’ book A Photographer’s Life in these mixed media presentations and her name is painted in tribute throughout his quilts.  The exhibit runs through June 5th, 2010 at the Max Protetch Gallery and is located at 511 West 22nd Street.  You can see images of some of Mike Cloud’s other works here.

Mike Cloud hearts Annie Liebovitz.
