The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is a film based on the wildly successful novel by the late Swedish writer Stieg Larsson.  As the film opens, disgraced writer Mikael Blomkvist (portrayed by Michael Nyqvist) is hired by the uber-powerful Vanger family to solve a 40 year old mystery – the disappearance of Harriet Vanger.  Blomkvist is aided by computer hacker Lisbeth Salander (portrayed by Noomi Rapace), who is also the girl with the dragon tattoo. Blomkvist and Salander uncover a web full of secrets, lies, rape, murder in this suspense thriller.  I won’t tell you how the film ends, but before the 2 and a half hour movie is over, you’ll see rape, dildos, torture, lesbianism, corporate trickery and lots of other surprises.  Before Stieg Larsson passed away, he wrote 2 other novels to make up “the millennium trilogy” and both stories are being adapted into movies.  Stay tuned for a review of the second film.  If you need a reprise from dick and fart joke movies, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is your remedy.
