The Phenomenal Handclap Band live at Terminal 5

On April 30, 2010, The Phenomenal Handclap Band  opened for Gossip at New York’s Terminal 5.  The band is an 8-piece outfit from New York.  They played both instrumentals and songs with vocals and everyone in the band traded turns singing or harmonizing.  Their music ranged from funk, psychedelic rock, disco, electro, and prog rock most songs had the sold-out venue dancing like it was the last day of earth. As the name of the band suggests, there were many parts where audience participation was needed for hand clapping as directed by the band.  We happily obliged.  Also as the name of the band suggests, they were phenomenal.  Expect to hear big things from this band.  Our friends over at RCRD LBL have a free mp3 of The Phenomenal Handclap Band’s track “You’ll Disappear,” so check it out before the mp3 disappears.
