On June 3, 2010 at the opening of the Strangers exhibit at the Bold Hype Gallery in New York, I met Skinner, one of the artists whose amazing works are featured prominently in the show. He was beyond nice! As you will see from the photos below, his works are extremely detailed and there is so much going on in them, you could stare at them for hours and still keep discovering new things. We bonded over the fact that we are both from California – Skinner from Sacramento and myself from Los Angeles. We also talked about our love of Amoeba music, the infamously huge record store located in both northern and southern California. Skinner mentioned that Zerofriends has T-shirts for sale featuring his art and they are sure to become collectors items, so get them while you can.
I love this mural so much! To give you a perspective of how big it is, we asked someone at the opening to take a picture of us in front of it, and you can see that as well as more of Skinner’s awesome work after the jump. And if you’d like to see a video of Skinner making this really cool mural, check it out on Hi-Fructose. Thanks again to Skinner for being so cool and for making such awesome art! Take a look at his website (link is above) and marvel at his masterpieces!
The Strangers exhibit runs from June 3 – July 3, 2010 at the Bold Hype Gallery, which is located at 547 West 27th Street, 5th Floor in New York.
