New Jersey’s finest, The Static Jacks crossed the bridges and tunnels to open for The Futureheads at a sold out show at Manhattan’s Bowery Ballroom on June 8, 2010.  They are an indie-rock band, with a little bit of soul, a little bit of punk, a lot of hand claps and a whole lot of fun to see live.  Lead singer Ian Devaney was all over the stage, and his energy was very inspiring. They played songs off their new EP “Laces,” and both myself and the crowd were liking what we heard.  At one point when The Static Jacks played a track off “Laces,”  Ian Devaney announced “If you like this song, it’s on our album.”  When they played a new track next, he said “if you don’t like this song, don’t worry, it’s not on the album, so get it!”  I am a big fan of suggestive selling.  I talked with the band after the show and they were all really cool and even though they had a fantastic show, their tour van was tagged by graffiti artist Jim Joe while the band was performing!  The band was cool enough to pose with their vandalized ride and a photo of that is coming soon.  Don’t worry guys, we’ll find the culprit!

Until then, see more pictures of The Static Jacks after the jump.

Also, you can download a free mp3 of “My Parents Lied,” by going to their official website.
