Dinosaur Feathers

With a name like Dinosaur Feathers, you know you are about to see something special.  And special it was as Dinosaur Feathers opened for British indie-folk band Stornoway at New York’s Mercury Lounge on July 8, 2010.  Dinosaur Feathers have a 60’s garage pop sound with tribal drum machine beats that had the audience begging for more.  With the absence of a drummer, the band uses vocal texturing as extra beats and I loved what I heard!  They played tracks off their EP “Early Morning Risers” which is available for free download on their official site (link is above) as well as songs from their full length release “Fantasy Memorial.”  It’s no wonder these guys have been the talk of the blog-o-sphere – they are awesome!  I met two of the guys before the show and they were both super cool.  More on that coming soon.  Stay tuned.

For now, enjoy two more pictures of Brooklyn’s finest, Dinosaur Feathers, after the jump.
