The Young Veins live at Irving Plaza

When 2 members of Panic! At The Disco split the band, they formed The Young Veins and they opened for Rooney at a sold out show at New York’s Irving Plaza on July 14, 2010. They rocked. Their music reminds me a bit of the young Beatles but with a harder edge. They performed songs from their debut album “Take A Vacation,” and I enjoyed what I heard. Before the song “Capetown,” lead singer Ryan Ross explained that he’d taken a trip there and his band-mate saved him from marrying a woman he’d just met. The lyrics of that song tell the story of this adventure in a very catchy way. You can get a free sampler of their music on their official website (link is above), so definitely check them out if you need to “take a vacation” from all the boring music they are playing on the radio.

The set list for The Young Veins at Irving Plaza was:
Die Tonight / Other Girl / Is It True / Dangerous Blues / Capetown / Take A Vacation / Security (Sam Cooke Cover) / Everyone But You / Defiance / Walk In the Room / Maybe I Will / Change
