Wang Chung live at BB King’s in New York
Photos by G.
On July 7, 2010, 1980s favorites Wang Chung played a rockin’ set at BB King’s in New York. Though they are best remembered for their songs “Let’s Go,” “Dance Hall Days,” and “Everybody Have Fun Tonight,” all of which were played, they have great new material which the crowd loved as much as their classics. Lead singer Jack Hues played some guitar solos that were really great as well. They played an acoustic version of “To Live and Die In LA” which can be found on their latest double EP “Abducted by the 80s.” The encore was a track from their 1982 album Huang Chung called “I Never Want To Love You In A Half Hearted Way,” that the band has not played live for over 25 years! They closed their triumphant set with a cover of the Beatles “I Saw Her Standing There.” It was a night to remember. I met the band after the show and they were extremely nice. I also took videos of “To Live and Die In LA,” “Dance Hall Days,” and “Everybody Have Fun Tonight.” All of which are coming soon, so stay tuned!
