Paul Marshall of Lone Wolf

August 11, 2010 was a very special night for Paul Marshall of Lone Wolf.  The day marked his first ever visit to New York and he celebrated by opening for Wild Beasts at the Highline Ballroom.  As Lone Wolf’s traveling band tends to vary, we were treated to an acoustic solo set by Paul Marshall and the crowd (including myself) loved it.  Marshall’s voice sounds a bit like Nick Cave and the songs are dark but powerful.  He played songs off Lone Wolf’s debut album “The Devil & I” and I’ll be posting a video of his performance of the new single “15 Letters” soon, so stay tuned.  Please be patient.  I am a lone blogger with many adventures (search the archives for proof!).  To all of my Los Angeles readers, Lone Wolf and Wild Beasts will be playing the El Rey Theater on August 13, 2010, so don’t miss this show!  Lone Wolf will also be playing with Phil Selway of Radiohead in England in September, so look for them to become huge once that happens.

I met lead singer Paul Marshall after his set and he was extremely nice.  I welcomed him to New York and wished him the best of luck.  I ran into him again after the Wild Beasts’ set and he remembered our encounter.  He was amused by me taking our photo with my hand and I explained to him that Chris Martin of Coldplay taught me the manuever and catch phrase.  I am looking forward to hearing great things to come from Lone Wolf in the very near future.
