Evolution of Melancholy by Per Fronth. Now showing at Dillon Gallery in New York through November 6, 2010.

Dillon Gallery in New York is celebrating the work of Norwegian artist Per Fronth in his latest solo show “Evolution of Melancholy.”  Fronth is known for enormous canvases that detail the plight of the human condition.  The last 12 months have been extra special for Per Fronth as a self titled book of his work has recently been published and even cooler than that, he won the 2009 Nobel Peace Price for Art!  I went to the gala opening night of “Evolution of Melancholy,” and I met the artist.  He was really nice as you will see below and he was very impressed with my ability to take the photo of us with my hand as well as having it come out perfectly without the flash on.
