Girl in A Coma

On October 2, 2010, Texas rockers Girl in a Coma got the crowd revved up at Music Hall of Williamsburg prior to an also great set by Foals.  The band is signed to Joan Jett’s Blackhearts label and their album “New Adventures in Coverland” is released on October 16, 2010.  Speaking of covers, they played the most rockin’ version of Patsy Cline’s “Walking After Midnight,” that I’ve ever heard!  The studio version will be on the album, so you’ll want to get it for that reason alone!  They also played a snippet of “Lover You Should Have Come Over” by Jeff Buckley but it was aborted (possibly because the hipster crowd probably have no idea who Jeff Buckley is).  Girl in A Coma’s music has also been featured in the latest Robert Rodriguez movie “Machete” and based on their live performance, it looks like they’ll be hacking off their own slice of the rock and roll pie.
