On October 23, 2010, New York based band Rasputina opened for electronic god Gary Numan.  The band rocks out with a drummer and 2 cellists (including Melora Creager who also handles vocal duties and designs all the artwork for the band’s albums and website!).  Their music is very quirky.  Melora Creager mentioned that the band would be playing two songs about the weather and they also performed slowed down cello-rock cover of “How Soon Is Now?” by The Smiths.  The audience shouted out requests several times during Rasputina’s 40 minute set and I think a few wish-lists were fulfilled.  We were also treated to a cover of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Bad Moon Risin'” which sounded quite cool on cello!

As I was exiting the venue, I ran into Melora Creager and she was nice enough to pose for a photo with me.  Thanks Melora!
