X-Rated by CPLY

Do you like art? Do you like sex? Do you like the melding of those worlds? If so, you are in luck! The Paul Kasmin Gallery in New York has recreated artist William Copley’s 1974 exhibit “X-Rated.” Copley who often went by the name CPLY was born in 1919 and died in 1996. These works were created in the period of 1972 – 1974 and when you think of the boundaries he pushed at the time, I found myself turned on. Excuse the bad pun, but it’s true. CPLY has been praised by everyone from Andy Warhol to Roy Lichtenstein and in addition to the ambitious subject matter, there’s a great sense of humor in CPLY’s works.
After the jump, see two NSFCMP (not safe for closed minded people) works from CPLY.
X-Rated by CPLY runs through December 11, 2010. The Paul Kasmin Gallery is located at 511 27th Street in New York.
