Don't Ask Don't Tell

Don't Ask Don't Tell by Homo Riot

There’s so much I have to say about this so let me start at the beginning.  First off, let’s all take a moment to admire the absolute genius of this work by Homo Riot.  I couldn’t agree more!  Piss on war!  Piss on these assholes that want people who are willing to die for nothing AND be forced to stay in the closet while doing so!  Two things have become abundantly clear to me this Christmas season:  Santa Claus and equal rights for gays are things that people want to believe in, but in all actuality, they do not exist!

When I took a trip to Los Angeles earlier this year, I was driving down the street and out of the corner of my eye, I saw a work by Homo Riot and I nearly got in an accident pulling over so I could take a look at it (but I’m badass and I escaped without injury). I’m currently enjoying the last bit of my winter vacation in LA and I happened to notice new Homo Riot art on the amazing LA street art site Melrose and Fairfax.  I literally went out today in search of it because I loved it so much and I wanted to see these works with my own eyes.  To my good fortune, I found both images that I saw online!  For those that read this site regularly (aka my heroes), you know that this not-so-random-but-totally-random stuff happens to me all the time and I SWEAR to you that less than 2 hours after my Homo Riot street art adventure, I got an email from the artist himself!  WHOA!!!!

Homo Riot

To all of our good fortune, Homo Riot has agreed to doing an interview in the near future, so if you have any questions you are dying to ask, leave a comment or send me a private message and I’ll try and find out some answers.  In the meanwhile, check out Homo Riot’s really cool site.  It has some NSFCMP (not safe for closed-minded people) images, so if you fit into that category, open your mind and get to clicking!  Thanks universe for another great day for the books and thanks in advance to Homo Riot!

I saw the piece of the two dudes kissing on the side of an abandoned building in my neighborhood in downtown/South Dallas. 🙂 Sadly, I think it’s since been removed (likely by the owner). Thanks for sharing this – I wasn’t familiar with the source. -jwt
