Vectors by Ben Rubin. Now showing at Bryce Wolkowitz in NYC through February 18, 2011
You can always count on the Bryce Wolkowitz Gallery in New York for a colorful and mind-bending art exhibit. In their current show “Vectors” by Ben Rubin, prepare to take your senses on a trip. I recommend seeing this exhibit in person as the photos don’t account for the moving images you’ll see in each work of art.

In this next photo of a work of art entitled “Anecdotal History #1,” Ben Rubinprojects cables published by Wikileaks onto a manual typewriter. It’s really cool!

Johnny Rotten was here!
Happy 55th birthday to Johnny Lydon, who is better known as Johnny Rotten! Johnny Rotten was the lead singer of the Sex Pistols, a band who rewrote the rules of music! Johnny Rotten is well known for having a temper and I remember when I met him, I was very apprehensive about asking for his autograph. When someone I treat as a god is not nice to me, it is really hard to ever forget it. Johnny Rotten was playing a charity cricket match in Los Angeles, and when I approached him, he was extremely nice! He even drew a pair of boobs inside the “w” in “Johnny Rotten was here.” I lucked out! Thanks Johnny!! Have a great birthday!

Nolan Ryan
Baseball Hall of Famer Nolan Ryan turns 64 today, January 31! We wish him a happy birthday. I’ve met Nolan Ryan so many times and he’s always a cool guy and a great signer! The baseball card pictured above is from the 1987 Fleer set. The set has 660 cards in it, and I have the ENTIRE set autographed! It was a lot of hard work, but as you know, I love a challenge!

Ernie Banks
It’s baseball Hall of Famer birthday day today (wow, that’s a tongue twister!) Ernie Banks (aka Mr. Cub), turns 80 today, January 31, 2011. I’ve met the Hall of Famer many times and I’ve always had good luck with him. It’s also Jackie Robinson’s birthday today. Clearly, being born on January 31, means – if you play professional baseball, you are going to be better than the rest! Happy birthday!

Oh Land and G
On January 26, 2011, Danish electro-pop sensation played a sold out show at Hiro Ballroom in New York. Oh Land (nee Nanna Oland Fabricius) is as gorgeous as she is talented. Her music is extremely catchy and when I met the singer on the rise, I wished her the best of luck in her career. She was very sweet. She’s landed an opening slot for OMD’s first US Tour in 20 years and I expect those performances will catapult her into superstardom. Thanks again Oh Land! I’m excited to hear great things!
