Travels with a Donkey by Jack Featherly. Now showing at the Christopher Henry Gallery in NYC through March 20, 2011
The Christopher Henry Gallery in New York is currently exhibiting “Travels with a Donkey” by Jack Featherly. This is the artists’ first solo exhibition in New York since 2002. The title of the exhibit, taken from Robert Louis Stevenson’s book of the same name, concentrates on the importance of the journey, rather than the destination. Featherly’s paintings are very colorful and multi-layered. These photos do not even begin to show the detail of Featherly’s works so they need to be experienced in person to grasp the depth and abstraction of Featherly’s vision.
On the top floor of the Christopher Henry Gallery, Olek’s amazing crocheted studio apartment “Knitting is for Pus***” has been extended through May 2011. Two great exhibits that should not be missed.
The Christopher Henry Gallery is located at 127 Elizabeth Street in New York. ”Travels With A Donkey” by Jack Featherly runs until March 20, 2011.
