Robert Thurman and G

The other day I met Dr. Robert Thurman.  Robert Thurman (who is also Uma’s dad) is the co-founder and president of the Tibet House New York and is active against the People’s Republic of China’s control of Tibet.  He’s written and translated many books on Tibetan Buddhism including The Tibetan Book of the Dead.  In 1987 Thurman created Tibet House, U.S. with Richard Gere and Philip Glass at the request of H.H.XIV Dalai Lama. Tibet House is a non-profit organization whose mission is to help preserve Tibetan Culture in exile.  When I asked to take a photo with him, he seemed puzzled that I would want one.  Anyone who can translate The Tibetan Book of the Dead and can be such an activist for peace is a hero to me!  Thanks again Robert and you are a huge inspiration to me!
