“A N O N Y M O U S” by Jaume Plensa

Do not adjust your eyes! The sculpture you see by Spanish artist Jaume Plensa is not animated and nothing is being projected onto it. I was blown away by how real looking the sculpture is. It is featured in Jaume Plensa’s solo show at Galerie Lelong in New York entitled “A N O N Y M O U S.” The sculpture was made using 3D photographic technology to produce the model.
In addition to that amazing sculpture, you will see 40 mixed media portraits on paper that represent a vast range of ages, racial and ethnic backgrounds. Printed across each figure are words such as “innocence,” “desire,” and “divinity.” If you can’t get enough of Jaume Plensa’s work, you can also see a 44-foot high sculpture in Madison Square Park (from May 5 to August 14, 2011) in New York.
“A N O N Y M O U S” by Jaume Plensa is on display at Galerie Lelong (located at 528 West 26th Street) in New York until June 18, 2011.
