Marc Jancou Contemporary in New York is now showing an exhibit of works by Scott Campbell, Steven Parrino and Raymond Pettibon entitled “Blankness is not a Void.” I am a big fan of all three artists so I was very excited to check out this exhibit. Of course, all the works from these three tremendously talented artists are great, but as I persued the gallery, I was struggling to figure out a cohesive reason for the grouping of these works together. The press release advises “the show encourages viewers to re-examine America’s ‘low’ culture.” Perhaps because I am constantly thinking of it, the theme went over my head, but as I said before, the art is great and it’s definitely worth a visit.
“Blankness is not a Void” by Scott Campbell, Steven Parrino and Raymond Pettibon is showing at Marc Jancou Contemporary (located at 524 West 24th Street in Manhattan) until June 4, 2011. Don’t miss it!
