Sam Harris of The Ambassadors

On June 7, 2011, New York based indie rock band The Ambassadors opened for fellow New Yorkers The Postelles at the Mercury Lounge.  This was my first exposure to their music and I am happy to report, they turned me into a fan!  Lead singer Sam Harris was a both treat for the eyes and ears.  It was an extremely hot New York night and Sam Harris wore a loose fitting tank top, exposing his muscular arms and hairy chest that had the ladies (and gays) in the audience going crazy.  Someone even threw a bra up on stage (perhaps to celebrate that it was Tom Jones’ birthday yesterday?)  Every song in their 40 minute set sounded like a future stadium anthem as they fused rock, R&B with occasional hip hop and electronic beats.  Every member in the band is a great musician and I found it both impressive and inspirational that keyboard player Casey Harris is blind.  He never missed a note.  Respect!  The Ambassadors debut album “Litost” is expected for release in 2011.
