On June 15, 2011, artists Tristan Eaton and Ron English got together (along with art critic Carlo McCormick and artist Dr. Revolt) to discuss Eaton’s latest project “The 3D Art Book” at the New York Public Library. The book features art from 100 of the leading contemporary artists and as you’ve probably guessed by now, their works are in 3D! Eaton mentioned the painstaking process to compile the book and getting the images transferred into 3D. It was very fascinating. Some of the works in the book took over 100 layers in Photoshop to complete. It was worth all the work as the book is excellent! The images look fantastic and the art in 2D is enough to transport you into another dimension, so now add another dimension to the work and it’s enough to make your head explode (in a good way, of course). The 3D Art Book is available at bookstores and online now!
