Love this in so many ways! I’d venture to guess that in some ways, the art world is the same as the corporate world in that true talent shines through regardless of education from institutions. I won’t get into the fact that we use the word “institution” with no distinction between a school and a mental ward. I can speak from experience that certain people (that won’t be named) in various jobs I’ve had throughout the years that have an MBA and fancy university degrees have been amongst some of the dumbest people I’ve ever met. Money doesn’t buy smarts (or talent), but it can certainly buy the guise of it. If you are like me and reads a lot and practices what I’ve read, I am giving you an honorary degree right now. I have a Masters Degree in philosophy in this way (because I was curious and read every book I could find on the subject and then PRACTICED what I read hundreds of books later), so go ahead psychiatrists and pick a debate for me. I’ll tear you to shreds and tell you more about human nature than you’ll ever know!
Thanks for bringing this to the world’s attention Septerhed!
