If you don’t know the music of Elbow, you are doing your ears a great injustice. Their music is epic! The band is great and lead singer Guy Garvey’s voice has been known to draw tears to many an eye. I saw Elbow live at New York’s Terminal 5 on September 25, 2011 and the show was insanely awesome. The final song of the night was “One Day Like This.” Check out the video here.
Cali Killa - Beware of Hipsters T-Shirts. Now Available.
I love it when good triumphs over evil. Recently, I reported that street artist Cali Killa’s iconic “Beware of Hipsters” image was stolen by Urban Outfitters. UO tried to sell these shirts without Cali Killa’s permission and worst of all, without giving him a cent for the use of his art. Because my readers kick so much ass, within 48 hours of posting the story, word traveled across the internet and many other websites wrote about this theft as well. Urban Outfitters removed the shirt and now Cali Killa is free to use sell his own art. That brings us to today.
Angie! Annnngie! I love Angie Dickinson. I have met Angie Dickinson so many times and she is beyond nice. One of my fondest memories of Angie Dickinson was when she’d interact with a friend of mine who knew her. She’d always say to him “are you going to see my new movie?” and he’d always reply in complete dead pan “The last movie I saw in the theater was ‘Birth of a Nation.’” You’ll have to look up that reference if you don’t know it. You can take my word for it that thinking about those conversations still makes me smile. Happy birthday Angie!
