Chic Is The New Punk

Speaking of Chic, today is legendary musician and producer Nile Rodgers’ birthday.  In addition to being responsible for dance floor classics “Le Freak” and “Good Times,” Nile Rodgers has worked with everyone.  His jealousy-inducing roster of artists he’s worked with includes David Bowie, Duran Duran, Madonna, Robert Plant, Peter Gabriel, Thompson Twins, Diana Ross, Eric Clapton, the B-52s and the list goes on and on.  Nile has chronicled his amazing life (so far) in his autobiography “Le Freak,” and for New Yorkers reading this, Nile Rodgers will be signing copies of the book at Barnes and Noble in Union Square on October 20, 2011.  Follow Nile Rodgers on Twitter for more information.  He not only gives good tweet, but as time permits, he responds to messages too!  I’m looking forward to seeing Nile, whose birthday is one day before mine, in one month!  Happy birthday, dearest Virgo!  Thanks for making so much great music that has forever changed my life!
