America, please meet Katy B.  The British singer Kathleen Brien, better known as Katy B, has already made a big splash across the pond and is on a mission to conquer the states.  Katy B celebrated the US release of her album “On A Mission” by performing a sold out show at The Studio at Webster Hall in New York on September 13, 2011 and it was great!  She has a great voice and her music has elements of dance, soul, garage and house.  It was so great to see that the audience already knew the words to many of the songs and Katy B told the crowd that even though she recently played a bunch of overseas festivals, playing for a New York crowd was the happiest she’s been in a long time.

Katy B’s hour long set which was filmed for an upcoming special on MTV featured her hits “Katy On A Mission,” “Broken Record,” “Perfect Stranger,” and “Lights On.”  I am really enjoying her album “On A Mission” and I think you should check it out if you want 12 new songs to groove to!  I spoke with Katy B after the show was over and she was extremely nice.  She was very happy to sign my copy of “On A Mission” and thanked me for my support.  My pleasure Katy.  As I told you, I am looking forward to you becoming a huge star in the USA!

See the set list as well as a photo of me with Katy B after the jump.

I’m completely impressed with Katy’s new album. (check it out for free here, if you’re interested )

I think she’s going to be even bigger than she is now. Already snagged a Mercury Prize nomination AND is MTV’s new PUSH artist. GO KATYYYY.
