Happy birthday to Carrie Fisher. Of course she played Princess Leia in some of my favorite movies of all time – the Star Wars trilogy. She has also lead a very interesting life as her parents are actors Eddie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds. She chronicled her life in the book, which later became a one woman show, Wishful Drinking, on Broadway – and at Studio 54, no less! The show was hilarious as she recounts the above mentioned facts as well as her marriage to recent birthday boy Paul Simon.
Also born today: the queen of Salsa – Celia Cruz and jazz legend Dizzy Gillespie.
