When you take members of Hot Chip and LCD Soundsystem and you put them together, you get New Build.  When you put New Build on their first New York stage (on March 13, 2012 at Mercury Lounge), you get a way sold out show!  Demand for tickets was so high, in fact, a second show has been added (for March 14, 2012).  As you can expect from the description, when you merge members of these two great bands together and you get another great dance band!  Mercury Lounge was filled to the brim with people celebrating a lovely New York day with a full blown dance party.  Their songs are extremely catchy with great beats and when you consider that 7 musicians were on stage performing electronic music with live drums, percussion, guitar and bass, you can imagine how awesome the show was!

Lead singer Al Doyle (also of Hot Chip) thanked the crowd for our support and at times almost seemed to be in disbelief that everyone was having such a great time.  Their single “Do You Not Feel Loved?” featuring a chunky dance beat received the loudest applause of the night, but as evidenced by the sweaty bodies leaving the dance floor, it doesn’t appear that anyone had any complaints.  New Build’s debut album “Yesterday was Lived and Lost” will be released in the USA on April 5, 2012.
