“A Word is Worth A Thousand Pictures” by Stephen Powers

It’s been quite awhile since I walked through an art gallery and laughed out loud on numerous occasions. I wasn’t laughing at the poor craftsmanship, in fact, the contrary. The phrases in Stephen Powers’ new exhibit “A Word is Worth A Thousand Pictures” at the Joshua Liner Gallery in New York are beyond genius. A painted ‘Control Z’ with the caption “Undo my life”; a middle finger sticking up saying “You have one new message” and one of the best lines I’ve heard all year, “I don’t like drinking I just like pissing” are just 3 of literally thousands of pictures that you will see in this exhibit.
Whatever you do New York, do not miss this exhibit!
“A Word is Worth A Thousand Pictures” by Stephen Powers is showing at the Joshua Liner Gallery (located at 548 West 28th Street and right next door to Porter Contemporary) through September 29, 2012.
You can see more photos on The Worley Gig, and you should because this exhibit is super awesome!
Thanks for the great art and for the laughs, Stephen!
