The Goddess of Crochet, Olek, has more than brought her A-game to her latest solo exhibit “The End is Far” at Jonathan Levine Gallery in New York.  Part performance, part site specific installation and a whole lot of color and intricacy, you cannot miss seeing this exhibit.

As you walk into “The End is Far,” you find a scantily clad performer (but wearing a crocheted outfit) on a crocheted swing.  On the walls surrounding the performer, you see crocheted works of art that have subversive sayings or phrases.

Fuck, Lust, Love

Fuck, Lust, Love

And just when you thought the exhibit could not get any better, you turn the corner to discover an entire room crocheted by Olek!

The amount of detail and the amount of crocheted objects in this room is impossible to see from this picture, but I guarantee you, your mind will be blown!

Olek. Art within art...

Do not miss this exhibit under any circumstances!

“The End is Far” by Olek is showing at Jonathan Levine Gallery (located at 529 West 20th Street #9E) in New York through March 23, 2013.
