Seeing Kiss live is not just about seeing grown straight men perform in makeup, fireworks, rock and rolling all night and partying every day.  It’s also about the Kiss Army.  When I saw the Rock and Roll legends on August 14, 2010, I saw my own miniature version of the Mermaid Day Parade, a’la Kiss.

The backdrop to my fireworks watching experience!

I went to a party in New Jersey on July 4, 2010 to watch the fireworks from New York (as it’s just across the Hudson River).  I had no idea what I was in for!  I grew up close to Disneyland in California, so for most of my childhood, I heard a nightly fireworks display.  Typically, I could take or leave them, but I have to say, 2010 goes down as one of the coolest 4th of July fireworks viewings in recent memory.  I had the entire Manhattan Skyline as a backdrop (see above) and after the jump, see what I witnessed.  The photos are explosive!
