Morten Harket of A-Ha
We’d like to wish Morten Harket, lead singer of the about-to-disband-group A-Ha a very happy birthday today. September 14, 2010 marks Morten’s 51st birthday and we hope he has a good one. This photo was taken in July at A-ha’s final performances in New York, and he looks as great as he did 20 years ago. Please tell us your secrets for looking so wonderful! Favorite A-ha song? Mine is “Train of Thought.” I’ve shown you mine, now show me yours.

A-Ha!
If you are a fan of A-Ha, here’s some good news: Though the band is in the middle of their farewell world tour, the band will release a final new single on July 5, 2009. The song is called “Butterfly, Butterfly (The Last Hurrah)” and it will be included on a 2-cd greatest hits package called “25″ which will be released on July 19, 2010 in most of the world (except the US. A release date for the US has not been scheduled at press time). The song will premiere on Norwegian radio on June 14, 2010 at 9:50 Norwegian time.
In addition, the band’s classic albums “Hunting High And Low” and “Scoundrel Days” will be given the deluxe reissue treatment on July 13, 2010 with tons of demos, b-sides, live tracks and many songs that have been previously unreleased. See the track lists after the jump.

Sondre Lerche
Prior to A-Ha’s triumphant first farewell show at New York’s Nokia Theater on May 6, 2010, fellow Norwegian singer Sondre Lerche took the stage for an opening acoustic set. Sondre Lerche is not only physcially beautiful, but his music is the same. According2g, he sounds a little bit like Jeff Buckley, which is a good thing! On stage, he admitted that he was massively influenced by A-ha and he almost couldn’t believe that he was sharing the same stage with them. He played about 5 or 6 songs including “Faces Down,” a track from the movie “Dan In Real Life” (of which he did the score) and “I Think It’s Going To Rain.” The crowd lost their minds when he performed A-Ha’s “Crying In The Rain” B-Side “(Seemingly) Non-Stop July.” I expect to continue hearing great things to come from Sondre Lerche.
