For the last 14 years, Broadway and film stars turn up in Shubert Alley in New York for Broadway Barks, the annual adopt-a-thon created to find homes for pets from city animal shelters. I hung out to watch the stars arrive and as you will see above and below, I had quite a magical day meeting some truly amazing people.

Anjelica Huston
Happy birthday to actress Anjelica Huston. I used to see her out and about with her late husband, artist Robert Graham and the couple were always very nice to me. I used to love seeing Anjelica in 3D in “Captain EO” at Disneyland. In the short film, she had claws that could poke your eye out if you sat just right in the audience. Good times.
Also born today: singer Beck, writer Marianne Williamson, chef Wolfgang Puck and actor Kevin Bacon.
