Barry McGee Mural on Bowery and Houston in New York
When I was in Los Angeles, artist Barry McGee was given the opportunity to be the latest person to design a mural on the corner of Bowery and Houston in Manhattan. If you’ll recall from previous posts, this wall has been the home to murals by Keith Haring, Os Gemeos and Shepard Fairey. Miraculously, the wall has not been ruined by vandals as of this writing. Keep it that way, please! There are so many walls in the city that are just crying out to be decorated.

Os Gemeos on display at PRISM in LA through September 4, 2010
Due to the timing of my vacation in Los Angeles, I am catching the tail end of a lot of exhibits, but it is my duty to share them with you. Rearrange your plans and make sure you catch “Come As You Are” at PRISM as it is only open until September 4, 2010. The exhibit features works by Susanne Melanie Berry, Kelsey Brookes, Clayton Brothers, Richard Coleman, Os Gemeos, Dennis Hopper, Barry McGee, Ryan McGinness, Cleon Peterson, Clare Rojas, Craig Stecyk, Deanna Templeton, and Ed Templeton. The space at PRISM is magnificent as well and on your visit, make sure you catch the Gustavo Godoy sculpture on the roof. PRISM is located at 8746 West Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood.
