The other day, I wrote about my first experience seeing Bear Hands live. I also posted links for free mp3s. If you didn’t click on those, never fear – you can watch their song “B + T” below. You don’t have to do anything other than click “play.” I know you can handle that for a little bit of rock and roll. Can’t ya?
I was very excited to see Brooklyn based band Bear Hands (say that 10 times fast) as they’ve been setting the music blogs a-light with praise. When they performed at Webster Hall on September 18, 2010, opening for Jamie Lidell, I got to check the band out for myself. You can’t really trust what you read on other sites because most sites outsource their photos and words and still don’t have their reviews up on the net as fast as I do! However, I am glad to have experienced Bear Hands live because I really enjoyed them. Their music has tinges of MGMT mixed with the Killers and all of the songs played except one in their 11 song set were upbeat. It seemed like an odd choice for an opening act considering that Jamie Lidell is soulful and funky and Bear Hands were much more rock and roll. Also, the crowd consisted mostly of tweens and I felt that Bear Hands’ music would have much more appeal to the late or post-college crowd. Regardless, I enjoyed the set and I am looking forward to hearing their album which is scheduled for release in November, 2010. You can check out Bear Hands for yourself by downloading legal mp3s on RCRD LBL’s site. I’ll be posting a video of “B + T” (That’s what it said on the set list) in the near future, so you can get a taste of the rockin’ show I saw. Stay Tuned. Speaking of the set list, see it – courtesy of the guitarist, after the jump (and thanks for that!).
