I love Gossip! Not actual gossip, but the band Gossip. The trio was in town to perform a record release show for their great new album “A Joyful Noise” which was released on May 22, 2012. If you don’t know the music of Gossip, definitely check them out. And on new tracks such as “Move in the Right Direction” just try and sit still while the song plays. It’s impossible! They started off as a punk rock band (and lead singer Beth Ditto has a set of pipes on her that makes you realize she was born to perform) and have recently been exploring dancier territory.

If you’ve never seen Gossip live, I highly recommend it as their shows are high energy with Beth Ditto running all over the stage and they tend to always throw in an unexpected cover. In the past, I’ve heard Grace Jones’ “Pull Up To The Bumper” and Wham’s “Careless Whisper.”

Awesome news! The funky-punkers Gossip are releasing their new album “A Joyful Noise” in May 2012. The single “Perfect World” will precede the album. Details are still emerging, but what we do know is that the album was produced by Mark Ronson and Brian Higgins of Xenomania. This can only mean one thing – tour to follow! That’s Gossip worth spreading! Pass it on.
Hot off Twitter, Gossip have said they are currently in the studio recording with Mark Ronson! No word on how many songs are being worked on (read: let’s pray for a full album) or release dates but one thing is certain: “Rhythm tracks laid down, not one power chord used and zero flutes!”
Beth Ditto of The Gossip has a new solo EP that is released today. The EP entitled “Deconstruction,” is available for purchase on Beatport today in either mp3 or Vinyl format.
On April 30, 2010 the Gossip played a sold-out show at New York’s Terminal 5. Lead singer Beth Ditto explains to the crowd that the band recently missed out on playing Saturday Night Live due to the Icelandic volcano eruption and flight cancellation aftermath. As you’ll see from the following video, Beth Ditto really wants to meet Tina Fey. I think we can make Beth’s wish come true.
