Head over to Joshua Liner Gallery in New York to see the first solo exhibition of large scale works by Michael Kagan. Kagan’s art was featured on the cover of White Lies’ fantastic album “Big TV” (see #3 in my top albums of 2013 list). The painting pictured about measures 60 x 80 inches and I’m including two close up shots (that still don’t do justice in comparison to seeing these works in person) to help give you an idea of the brush strokes and detail in Kagan’s art.
And here’s an even closer look.
You have until May 3, 2014 to see this exhibit, so take my advice and go see it!
Joshua Liner Gallery is located at 540 West 28th Street in Manhattan.
On October 3, 2013, British post-punk band White Lies played their first of 2 sold out shows at New York’s Bowery Ballroom. I was largely unfamiliar with their music even though they’ve been around since 2007, but White Lies did their job as rock-stars and turned me into a fan. Their music has elements of Joy Division, Editors and The Killers, which to me is winning all around! They took the stage around 10 pm and played for around an hour and a half, playing songs off their 3 albums. Their latest album “Big TV” was released earlier this year and the video you are about to see is the first single from the record. If you like this song, and I know you will, you will enjoy all of their records. So get ready to become a fan of White Lies as soon as you press play.
