My favorite 007, Sir Roger Moore was in New York last night (November 8, 2012) to discuss his new coffee table book “Bond on Bond” at the Players Club.  Looking elegant as ever, Sir Roger told us how he got cast as James Bond – unbeknownst to him at the time, 007 producer Albert “Cubby” Broccoli was one of his gambling buddies.  He had kind words to speak about his 007 co-stars, Bond Girls and did a spot on Sean Connery accent.  He mentioned that it was an honor to be name checked in the Amy Winehouse song “You Know I’m No Good” and he also mentioned that he wants to play a Bond villain (please Danjaq, make that happen!) because he said “they get to deliver all the good lines and they don’t have to show up on the set every day.”  Sir Roger also said that his favorite 007 film is “Diamonds Are Forever” which is interesting in that he is not in it.

I had the chance to tell Sir Roger about a former job of mine where I worked at MGM Studios managing the James Bond film library for global television sales and he both thought that was fascinating and also thanked me for my hard work.  My pleasure Sir Roger, and it was really awesome to meet you again!
