Good Vibrations by Erik den Breejen.

You’ll pick up some good vibrations when you see Erik den Breejen’s latest exhibit, “Smile,” at Freight + Volume in New York.  Den Breejen has painted the lyrics to the Beach Boys album “Smile.”  The album was recorded in 1966 following the release of the seminal album “Pet Sounds.”  Some of the songs eventually saw the light and Brian Wilson even recorded a new version of the album in the early 2000s, but 2011 finally saw the official release of the shelved album.  The lyrics are more alive than ever in den Breejen’s exhibit.  Fuse art and rock when you see “Smile.”

“Smile” by Erik den Breejen runs until January 14, 2012 at Freight + Volume (located at 530 West 24th Street) in Manhattan.
