The summer season is notoriously known as a quiet time for the New York art world, but not for the Christina Ray Gallery.  The Soho gallery has a hot new exhibit featuring the works of Don Porcella and Brian Leo.  Don Porcella is famously known for his pipe cleaner art (see photo below) as well as his encaustic paintings.  Brian Leo’s paintings address global culture, contemporary politics and American identity.

Don Porcella crafts a unique and humorous commentary on the human condition in both his encaustic works as well as his world famous pipe cleaner sculptures.  You cannot see the detail in these photos so I encourage you to visit the Christina Ray gallery and see these wonderful works of art in person.

New York-based artists Jason Douglas Griffin and Danni Rash are showing new works at Christina Ray in SoHo. The artists will make you think about media-saturated concepts of identity, as they offer figurative and abstract reflections on urban life in this installation of paintings, wall drawings and works on paper.
