Photos by G. Art by Robert Deyber.
I love Robert Deyber’s paintings. In addition to the realist visuals you see when looking at his work, each painting is the depiction of a play on words. He is currently showing a new body of paintings at the Martin Lawrence Galleries in New York, all of which will make you smile at their cleverness. A fun fact about Robert Deyber – he made the cover art for Tom Petty’s “Highway Companion” album.
I told you!
At the opening night reception, one of the desperate housewives of (insert city here) reality tv shows were filming at the gallery and moments before I spoke with Robert Deyber, I witnessed him signing his life away in consent forms (half kidding). It was quite amusing. Robert was extremely cool and posed for a photo with me. You can see it after the jump. We can only assume that he also posed for photos with the desperate housewives. Hopefully they bought some art!
This exhibit will be up through July 2013 and this location of Martin Lawrence Galleries is at 457 West Broadway in Manhattan.
